Shawnn Fayson, LFD

Managing Mortician

Mrs. Fayson is a native Washingtonian with nearly a decade of experience in the funeral service profession. As the Managing Partner of a first-generation funeral establishment, Mrs. Fayson and the professionals of The Fayson Firm are committed to providing compassionate care to the families we serve during their time of bereavement.

A graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Mrs. Fayson earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business & Organizational Management before continuing her education at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC), where she obtained an Associate’s Degree in the profession of Mortuary Science. With a deep understanding of funeral service traditions across all faiths and cultures, Mrs. Fayson strives to create both meaningful and personalized experiences that honor the lives of those we hold closest to our hearts.

With years of dedication to both the funeral profession and the communities we serve, her unwavering belief in the importance of honoring life and legacy is the cornerstone of The Fayson Firm’s philosophy, guiding every service provided with professionalism, warmth, and dedication.

Eric Ruffin

CEO

Eric Ruffin, a Washington, DC native educated on Capitol Hill in the DMV area, has a deep passion for both music and the funeral industry. He was a member of the Hine Junior High School Marching Panthers and Eastern High School’s Blue and White Marching Machine, performing in prestigious events such as Inaugural Parades. His love for music and Norfolk State University’s Spartan Legion grew during this time, and he enjoyed performing at Norfolk State University Homecoming and its many events. As a marching band member, he played the trumpet and mellophone.

In 2009, Eric developed a passion for the funeral industry and has been working in the field since 2010. Over the years, he has supported many grieving families, including those of DC Mayor Marion Barry and Chuck Brown. Through his dedication, he has gained professional expertise in various roles within the funeral business.

Erica K. Walker, MS

Erica K. Walker, a Philadelphia, PA native is a dynamic organizational leader and visionary with more than 18 years of experience strengthening operations, elevating brands, and guiding mission-driven organizations toward sustainable success. She currently serves as the Chief of Operations for The Fayson Firm, where she oversees family communications, operational infrastructure, and the internal systems that ensure compassionate, high-quality service during life’s most sensitive moments. Erica’s leadership helps the firm maintain trust, transparency, and excellence as a cornerstone of its community.

Before joining The Fayson Firm, Erica built a distinguished career in nonprofit management and strategic communications, managing large-scale initiatives. Her consulting and public relations experience gives her a unique ability to strengthen organizational identity, streamline operations, and build meaningful relationships across diverse audiences. Whether supporting grieving families or aligning internal systems. Erica’s work reflects her commitment to quality service(s), empathy, and long-term impact.
