Michael Donald Ginyard, Sr., of Washington, DC, passed away on September 17, 2026, in Washington, DC. He was born on April 22, 1954, in Washington, DC to the late Frederick Simpson Ginyard and Rebecca Louise Ginyard.

Michael will be remembered with love by those who knew him and by the family he held close throughout his life. His passing leaves a deep absence, and his memory will remain a lasting presence in the hearts of all who shared in his life.

A Michigan Park (MP) legend, and a revered and respected entrepreneur and business owner Michael created opportunities for others. He was a fearless soldier. Michael was an awesome husband, and he loved his wife Patrice unconditionally. Michael was always content with coming home sitting in his chair with his bedroom slippers on and a glass of GreyGoose and Oj. While watching MSMBC/ History Channel/ and ESPN. Michael was always dressed to the 9's and his hat collection was fly! He will be remembered for his signature for his toothpick and his Yankee's cap.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Patrice Ginyard; his son, Michael Ginyard Jr.; and his stepdaughters, Akia Garvin, Ayreon Jackson, and Ayra Jackson. He also leaves behind a cherished circle of grandchildren and great family love. His grandchildren include Quiana Ricks; Chanel Parrish; Jordan Johnson; Maniya Griffin; Winter Griffin; JaMoni Ginyard; Matthew Ginyard; Addison Jackson; Antonio Coward Jr.; Ayron Jackson; and one great-grandson, Joseph River-Johnson.

Michael is also survived by his siblings, William “Sonny” Hill, Frederick “Little Freddy” Ginyard Jr., Christine Ginyard, Deborah Seville (Charles), James “Ricky” Bradshaw, Gregory Ginyard (Judith), L’Tanya “Tan” Johnson, and Darryl Ginyard. The love of his family surrounded him in life and will continue to honor him in the days ahead.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph “Melvin” Ginyard; his loving parents, Frederick and Rebecca Ginyard; his brother, Howard Bradshaw; and his sister, Antionette Kelly.
