Deacon Ronald Jemison

Ronald Kenneth Jemison was  born on February 22, 1951 to Edward E. and Frances M. Jemison in Cleveland, Ohio. He peacefully transitioned into life eternal through Jesus Christ our Lord on Monday, June 22, 2026. After living in various locations due to his father's military service, the family settled in Maryland, where Ronald graduated from DuVal High School in Lanham.

Ronald served in the U.S. Air Force from 1975 to 1995. Following his military career, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement. Ronald was a dedicated member of the Straightway Church of Christ in Hyattsville, MD, where he was baptized in Jesus' name and filled with the Holy Spirit under District Elder Lee Sanders.

In 1996, Ronald joined True Apostolic Church (TAC), serving under District Elder Charlie L. Plummer. When leadership passed to his son, Elder James H. Plummer, Sr., in 1999, Deacon Jemison continued to be an active and committed member. At TAC,

Deacon Jemison held several roles, including Head Deacon and member of the Transportation, Nursing Home, Prison, Prayer Band, and Men’s/Brotherhood Ministries. He ensured that members had transportation to church every Sunday and continued serving those in need even after his retirement, by driving a van for young adults with disabilities and bringing one young man to church regularly.

Deacon Jemison was a devoted attendee of church services, rarely missing a Sunday, and will be remembered for his unwavering faith and service to the community. Deacon Jemison often accompanied the Pastor to fellowship events. He served faithfully at TAC for twenty-six years and will be deeply missed.

Deacon Ronald Kenneth Jemison is survived by his two sisters, Cynthia (Robert) Sondheimer of Bryans Road, MD, and Kevyn Alfreda Kemp of Belfair, WA, as well as his nieces and nephews: Ebony, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Andrea, Damon, Christopher, and Kelly. His friends include his Prayer Partner Evangelist Viola Rogers, Pastor District Elder James Plummer, Bishop Steven Long, and Deacon Gerald McPherson, along with many other relatives and church friends who will also miss him.
